Returning to Orlando
By Adonal Foyle
After testing the free-agent market, I decided that it would be tough to leave a good thing in Orlando. So I re-signed with the team that wanted me to stay all along.
I never sold my home in Orlando because I always knew there was that possibility to come back. The Magic have the potential to be a really, really great team. And I really wanted to have the opportunity to be a part of it. I like Orlando a lot. And I like what is going on with the Magic. So, I'm really, really excited about coming back. With guys like Dwight Howard, Rashard Lewis, Hedo Turkoglu - and now - Mickael Pietrus, who can play really, really good defense - we've got some serious punch in that lineup. We're going to have some offense, we're going to have some defense, we're going to have a little bit of everything. And they really, really want me to be a part of the team. So I thought that, also, was interesting. I'm very happy.
After the type of season we had last year, what we learned is simply to just let the game come to us and take advantage of what we can dish out. I'm very excited about being on a team that wants me, a team with very good players, a team that went far in the playoffs and has something to build on and a team that knows what it's like to win. That all says a lot about the future about the Orlando Magic organization.
Reuniting with Mickael is very exciting for me because we were very close at Golden State. We're both Caribbean people (he's from Guadeloupe, I'm from St. Vincent) so we're almost neighbors. It will be nice to be teammates with someone whom we can reminisce about the days with the Warriors. Of course, we have more important things to talk about as Magic teammates, but it's nice to talk about some of those experiences we had in the Bay Area; how that playoff season was like, how his last season with Golden State was, etc. So that could be fun. Above everything else, Mickael is a good person. He's a family man now. So just seeing that other side of him and see him all grown up, I'm curious to see more of that side of him.
