Summer Re-cap (2004)

By Adonal Foyle, with Chris Navalta

After a busy offseason, I'm finally able to reach out to you just in time for the start of the season. I would like to apologize to all of you for not being able to get online as of late. When you sign a contract extension, you want to make sure that you can prove work as hard as you can and not disappoint anyone. And that was the type of summer I had. I worked extremely hard, harder than I ever worked before. Luckily, I was still able to put a little time aside to relax.

The summer was fun. I went back home to the islands and had a busy time trying to find a home over there. I also found some time to play basketball so I can stay in shape. After that, I traveled to Sri Lanka for a 15-day wedding. That was quite intriguing. Then, I came back and got myself in very, very good shape.

I would say I was away for about a month.

Once I re-signed and got that out of the way, it was time for me to get to work. And that's what I did. I shaved off some weight, so as to take some pressure off my knees. I wanted to put myself in a situation where I can be effective enough to run back and forth on the court for as long as I want. So, I trained very, very hard and kept my body in tip top condition over the course of the summer.

During the pre-season I played limited minutes due to a hamstring injury. I'm happy to say that my hamstring is doing very, very well. I've been doing a lot of weights and I've been getting a lot of therapeutic massages. I've put a lot of attention into it in order for me and my body to be ready to go for the season opener.

This 2004-05 season is one that I am definitely looking forward to. It is a season of new challenges for both the team and myself. And I will do all that I can not to disappoint. There is no doubt in my mind that we will be competing every night. And I'm hoping that we can give the fans some of the best Warriors basketball they've seen in a long time. Take care and wish us luck this season.
