The Magic Visit Adonal's Bay Area Home
By Chris Navalta
"I'm so happy to be here," Dwight Howard screamed out in a mock Caribbean accent.
"Where's the food?" Hedo Turkoglu asked.
Those were just a couple of reactions once the Orlando Magic set foot inside Adonal Foyle's home for the first time.
Dwight's term of indearment toward Adonal was also a genuine reaction to when he, along with the rest of the Magic players and staff, arrived at Adonal's house.
The Magic made their only Bay Area appearance on Dec. 15, when they traveled to Oakland to take on Adonal's former team, the Golden State Warriors. The night before the game, Adonal was not only happy to sleep in his own bed for one, but he also opened his home to the rest of his teammates. Staff members were on hand to serve and assist as players and staff was given a thorough tour of Adonal's 5,200-square-foot house in Orinda and were later treated with a steak and lobster dinner.
Adonal's poolhouse was also open for entertainment. Some relaxed and watched a football game with an open bar easily accessible, others tested their mettle in a friendly game of Tiger Woods Golf on the Nintendo Wii in front of a 56-inch monitor. Desserts and beverages were also served after dinner.
Some of Adonal's friends were also invited to the house and were introduced to his teammates, who were kind enough to sign a few autographs and take pictures.
Though the Magic are in the middle of a road trip, it was good to know that they could feel at home for at least one night.
