Your Jan-Feb, 2004 questions...

Colita in St. Vincent and the Grenadines asks...
When will you have the next summer basketball camp and where will it be held?
[Adonal] We are planning the next camp on Bequia and Union Island. If it does not take place this summer then definitely next summer. It will be a whole lot of fun again.

Jefferson in Mountain View, CA asks...
Yo Adonal, there are rumors about Rasheed Wallace coming to Golden State on a three way trade to Houston. Do you feel like the Warriors are one great player away from going into the playoffs and possibly winning a championship with a veteran ball club like the one you are in?
[Adonal] Wallace wil be very influential as a Piston. We have the team to make the playoffs but unfortunately for yet another year we are plagued by injuries. We still have a chance though.

Lawdina in East Point, GA asks...
Martin Luther King, Jr is a positive role model for young people, why?
[Adonal] Because he endures so much and still chose a path of nonviolent resistance. He knew that he might be killed and still thought it was important to continue to fight the good fight even though he might lose his very life.

Matt in Benicia, CA asks...
When do you see the Warriors contending with the Lakers or T-wolves?
[Adonal] We are doing that right now, the only thing is for us to beat the weaker teams.

Carlyle in Hayward, CA asks...
I have been wondering why you came to the states from your wonderful island of St.Vincent??
[Adonal] Well as beautiful as St. Vincent and the Grenadines is, I was given the opportunity to go to college and possible pursue a professional career by coming to the United States. It was an opportunity I could not give up.

Troy in Oakland, CA asks...
I have a 14 year old son who is extremely intelligent and politically savvy. We have very good discussions about our current political leadership. My problem is my child is flunking the 9th grade. His motivation and self-esteem is not what it should be. I feel a lot of it came from his lack of success in CYO basketball, which he played for 6 years. He didn't exhibit the skills that a young African-American normally does. Or so he feels. I am trying to find some motivational tools that might change this bright mind and soul around. If you have any suggestions I would love to hear them.
[Adonal] My younger brother played basketball for a little but he hated it and he quit. He said he did not want to compete with me. I told him to find his passion. He found computers. I told him that your gifts are sometimes obvious but we failed to see them. Basketball is great but it is a small part of your life cycle. The life expectancy of an NBA player is four years. So even if you make it you have to find something else pretty soon. I told my brother that his computer degree is special and I am so proud of him. He will have a career for the rest of his life. You need to make him understand that he needs to use him brains and then try to buy a team like Mark Cuban from Dallas did! Education and intelligence is cool and hip.

Bobby asks...
When will you start?
[Adonal] You are probably aware by now that I am back on the court. I am still working on my timing but it is fun to be back with the team. I so very much missed this sport.

Kyle in Garden City, NY asks...
How has the loss of Danny Fortson and several other players affected your teams play this year?
[Adonal] I think the loss of those players hurt the Warriors in the short term simply because we were together for a long time, and the team that we now have is a new team in every sense of the word. But with the talent that we now possess, the Warriors will be ok in the long run.
