10 Random Thoughts

February, 2008

Click here to send a question to Adonal ! >
10 Random Thoughts offers a different way to get into Adonal's head. The questions are randomly selected (without Adonal knowing ahead of time), allowing him to give his true genuine responses about anything from sports to why Pepsi is better than Coke:

1. How do you like the way the Presidential race is shaping up with just days to go?
[Adonal] This race has been an interesting one. What I'm most excited about are the amount of people who have gone out and register to vote, people watching the news and really wanting to know what's going on. So many people are talking about politics now and it's really an exciting time.

2. You were a free agent this offseason. Why did you decide to come back to Orlando?
[Adonal] It's always nice to go to a team that wants you. And the Magic really wanted me to come back. It's always a good thing when you're wanted. Plus, we're really going to be a good team. Our core really hasn't changed much so it's going to be an exciting season. We'll see what happens.

3. You had a preseason game at 10 a.m. How did it feel waking up super early for such a game?
[Adonal] Basketball is not meant to be played that early in the morning (laughs). I tricked my body by drinking a lot of coffee.

4. Which team do you think made the best improvements this offseason?
[Adonal] It's a bit early to tell. Last season, when Boston traded for Kevin Garnett and Ray Allen, everyone wasn't sure if it would work because there were three superstars on that team - with one ball to share. Of course it turned out that it worked brilliantly. This offseason, there were a lot of moves, but we have to see how it all pans out before we can really determine which team made the right moves. Right now, any speculation would be just that - speculation.

5. What TV show have you been waiting to watch all summer?
[Adonal] 24. I cannot wait for that show to come back.

6. What do you think of the team's new uniforms?
[Adonal] I think our uniforms are pretty cool. Mixing the retro look with a bit of a modern twist doesn't look too shabby. Quite cool.

7. What's the coolest thing you bought this summer?
[Adonal] I finally bought my own iPhone. It's fast, it helps you organize your life, it's everything you could possibly need in one device. It's a pretty amazing gadget.

8. Which of your teammates do you expect to have a big impact this season?
[Adonal] I think Mickael Pietrus is going to flourish in this offense. I'll be looking for great things to come from Mickael this season.

9. We often hear about "pregame rituals." Do you have any "postgame rituals"?
[Adonal] After every single game of my professional career, with the exception of maybe two games, I've spoken to my dad. We talk, we debrief from the game. When I retire, that is the one thing I will miss the most about being an NBA player. Because it really gives us to bond in ways that are truly special.

10. Who is your favorite athlete to watch (basketball or non basketball)?
[Adonal] Over the summer, it was definitely Michael Phelps And Usain Bolt. I thought what they did in the Olympics was truly remarkable and exceptional in so many ways. For them to take their sport to a whole new level, and for them to do it in just two weeks, I thought that was truly extraordinary.
